Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine. Our organization, Student National Association for Black Veterinarians (SNABV), will be hosting our second annual All Black affair on February, 9th from 6:00-9:00 pm. This event aims to bring black professionals ( graduate students, professionals, faculty, etc.) together to celebrate our success and history, in addition to building community within Blacksburg. All professional/graduate students, staff, and many professionals in the field are invited. Like last year, this will be an elegant outing, so we are encouraging guests to wear their best all black outfit!

The Pride Center will be hosting a screening of the 2023 film, Rustin. Rustin is an American biographical drama film directed by George C. Wolfe, from a screenplay by Julian Breece and Dustin Lance Black, and a story by Breece about the life of civil rights activist Bayard Rustin. Produced by Barack and Michelle Obama's production company Higher Ground, the film stars Colman Domingo in the title role, alongside Chris Rock, Glynn Turman, Aml Ameen, Gus Halper, CCH Pounder, Da'Vine Joy Randolph, Johnny Ramey, Michael Potts, Jeffrey Wright, and Audra McDonald. It is based on the true story of Rustin, who helped Martin Luther King Jr. and others organize the 1963 March on Washington.
