Haleigh Wallace

Assistant Director, Pride Center

Haleigh Wallace (she/her) joined the Cultural and Community Center team in January 2023 as Assistant Director for the Pride Center. She aims to create opportunities that foster community, holistic wellbeing, and critical social engagement for students, faculty, and staff across Virginia Tech’s campus. Her work includes managing the VirTual Safe Zone program, advising student orgs, and focusing on community building initiatives, such as Sapphic Cinema and Venture Out’s Queer Adventure series.

Haleigh has worked as an educator for over 10 years, serving teens and adults in a variety of settings, including internationally. She is excited to draw on that experience, as well as a background in queer studies to support the LGBTQ+ Resource Center and the greater Virginia Tech community.

Haleigh earned her B.A. in Foreign Languages from Stonehill College and an M.A. in Hispanic Linguistics with a concentration in LGBTQ+ Studies from the University of Texas at Austin.

Got an idea for a program or partnership that you would love to see? Let her know! She would love to talk to you about it.
