- Black Alumni Summit set for July 7-8 in Richmond The third bi-annual event will focus on Project 2022, which seeks engaged black alumni in the recruitment, yield, and retention of black and African-American students.
- Virginia Tech awarded grant to commit to diversity, inclusion for success in science education The idea behind the grant is to help such institutions as Virginia Tech work with first-generation students and students transferring in from community colleges to guide them into STEM-related careers.
- All-gender restrooms available in Squires Student Center and Graduate Life Center
- Class of 2017: First-generation college student jumps into student affairs Jade Carcamo has served in a variety of roles in the division as she completes her graduate work in higher education and student affairs this May. Carcamo has used her experiences and background to help shape the Virginia Tech student experience for the better.
