Spring 2024 Powwow

As we look forward to an exciting spring semester, the Indigenous Community Center will again host our annual spring powwow in partnership with Native at VT student organization. This year will be our 7th annual powwow and it will take place on Saturday, April 20th on the GLC Lawn. In the case of inclement weather it will be held indoors in Commonwealth Ballroom A (same date & time). Grand entry begins promptly at 12 noon and the event will conclude at 4pm.

A family friendly event, it is free and open to the entire campus community as well as the general public. We plan to have several artisans and vendors present as well. Please mark this date on your calendar and come out and enjoy food, music, dancing, and more.

Our current sponsors include: Ati: Wa:oki Indigenous Community Center, Native at VT, Undergraduate Student Senate, Office for Diversity and Inclusion, American Indian Studies,  Dept. of Religion and Culture, College of Science, the Center for Rural Education, Moss Arts Center, Student Affairs, the Center for the Humanities, Dr. Jeff Rudd, and the Graduate School at Virginia Tech.

This event would not be possible without the support of campus partners and external gifts.  We offer our sincere appreciation as we look forward to this event!

If you are still interested in becoming a sponsor of this event or would like to sign up to be a vendor at this event, there is still time!  Please email Melissa Faircloth at missy86@vt.edu.
