Assistant Director for Cultural and Community Centers
Joe Frazier serves the Cultural and Community Center team as a Coordinator. Joe is a Hokie alum from Chesapeake, VA. He studied Sociology and Philosophy in his undergrad at Virginia Tech and went on to complete two Master’s degrees, one in Philosophy and the other in Sociology. During his time off between undergrad and graduate school, Joe worked for Independence Secondary School in Christiansburg as the Phoenix Supervisor.
While a graduate student at Virginia Tech, Joe served as the Political Action Chair for the NAACP college chapter. He supported and facilitated ally ship with the BLM movement, started multiple programs including the Student Police Unity League, and the annual High School Allyship and Activism Leadership Conference that occurs in partnership with Montgomery County Public Schools and Christiansburg’s Dialogue on Race Committee. He was also VT’s 2016 ASPIRE! Award recipient for Civility.
